Reformer Tubes, Harps and Headers for Petrochemical & Chemical Industries
Since the early 60's, developments in reforming plant process engineering have led to increasingly higher pressures and temperatures. In practice, it has been demonstrated that tubes and pipes produced using the centrifugal method are best able to withstand the ever-more rigorous operating conditions.
Schmidt-Clemens Spain, S.A.U. has been manufacturing reformer tubes for ammonia, hydrogen and methanol furnaces for many years. The history of the group extends from the original alloy, Centralloy 4848 (HK 40), to the present alloys such as Centralloy 4852 (HP-40) and 4852 Micro (HP-40 microalloyed). There is a well-established record of developing new alloys, which allow tubes that have thinner walls for better heat transfer and increased catalyst capacity.
Construction of complete tube systems, such as harps, often requires manufacture of different pieces and assemblies that may include top pipes, flanges, cones, pigtails and collectors. The pieces are welded together at our shops to allow safe transportation and minimize the number of field welds.
Through our ample experience in supplying reformer tubes and through continuous audits at our facilities and quality assurance systems, we are fully approved by all specialized engineering companies.

Coils and Transferlines for Ehtylene Cracking Furnaces
The Schmidt-Clemens Spain, S.A.U. range of products for cracking plants includes not only centrifugally cast tubes, but also static castings such as return bends, elbows, Y-pieces, T-pieces and tetra-fittings These fittings are X-rayed and dye-penetrant tested to comply with the strictest specifications. In addition to our static cast fittings, we can produce high quality U-bends made of bent centrifugally cast tubes.
Schmidt-Clemens Spain, S.A.U. production includes inside surface improvements/modifications of tubes and fittings used in cracking plants, to minimize surface roughness and to avoid adherence of coke to the walls.
Other examples of our broad range of products for the ethylene cracking industry are transferlines and ready-to-install thermowells. When used in cracking applications these assemblies undergo thermo-mechanical stresses, which dictate the use of highly specialized materials. Our alloys demonstrate high long-term creep rupture strengths, optimum ductility, low-embrittlement and thermal shock resistance as well as maintenance of good welding properties.
As with our reformer products, we are fully approved by all engineering companies.

Tubes and Coils for the Direct Reduction of Iron ore Industry
One of the most important specialties of Schmidt-Clemens Spain, S.A.U. is the manufacturing of reformer tubes for direct reduction steel plants. We are major producers of these products as designed by all the engineering firms.
In collaboration with engineering companies and end users, we have developed specific technology and invested in special equipment for the manufacture of large diameter tubes, typical for this purpose, offering the best quality and competitiveness.
Coils for pre-heaters made of our Centralloy ET45 Micro are supplied with special inside surface improvements to minimize the effects of the metal dusting phenomenon.
During the last few years, the group has implemented a major investment program in products and manufacturing development and, as a result, we have achieved a privileged, leading position in the market.
